Analysis bench - edit projects (advanced)

When creating a project there are a number of choices to make for what scripts or order models to be used. Below, we go through them and what options there are. First, we need to select a simulation account, or create one if none exist. You can enter any account value you want, and set the credit line and brokerage costs. Click the Pick button to open the dialog. Click New account to create one. Enter account name, cash etc:

Analysis bench - edit projects (advanced)

As an example we assume we are about to simulate two parallel order models, one for buy and one for sell. For example, Fear/Greed. Once the dialog is open we click the New button to name our project:

Next step is to select the correct option in Alternatives, and we select Multiple parallel single sequence order models:

Now click Pick to the right of the Buyside option and select the order model for generating buy signal:

Continue with the Sellside and select the sell model, in this example we will use Fear-Greed sell.

Next step is to select the Strategy;

Finally, we select the options for how to run the simuilation. An important detail is the resolution, where we can check Animate by tick (highest resolution). Animation per minute is relatively fast and offers reasonably accurate result. Selecting 5 sek interval equals a live situation, but takes far longer to simulate. Depending on the trading strategy used, "by minute" is often accurate enough. You can always try both options for a shorter period of time and compare the results.

Analysis bench - editing script and order models directly (advanced)

When working with scripts or order models it can be very useful to edit directly from the Analysis bench. When the dialog for Buy- and Sellside is open you have access to editing the models:

Mark the model and click Edit model to open the dialog:

Select a sequence (if there are more than one) and click Edit to open the dialog:

If you click Full editor, an editor is put on the workspace enabling you to make changes to the trigger script very easily, then run the simulation again to see what changes it does to the result. Remember to click Refresh updated from system to include the changes into the simulation project.

Analysis bench - activate automatic project refresh (advanced)

Click the Allow autorefresh of active analysis in the toolbar:

You can now save changes in scripts, Indata settings and so on, and the project will be automatically refreshed with the new input. This makes it easier to find settings for example trailing stoploss or other parameters within your scripts. There is yet another alternative, you can double click the button to activate "Live mode" in which the project is automatically simulated every time a new parameter is changed.

You can track the progress of the simulation in the status bar. Once the simulation is finished the result window is updated with the new results.
