General information about usage

Nordnet Auto Trader is a PC software, intended to be installed and run on the customer's own PC. Stock prices can be analyzed in real time and the software can monitor and alert when something happens, as long as Nordnet AutoTrader is running when the stock market is open.
The information below is intended to help our clients to get the best results from the use of Nordnet AutoTrader.

System demands

• Processor 1 GHz or faster, preferrably dual core
• 1 GB of system RAM memory or more for AutoTrader Bas, 4 GB min for Pro. 8 GB recommended.
• Operative System Windows XP or later. Support for Windows Vista and Win 7, Win 8
• Not directly compatible with MAC, but it is entirely possible to run NAT on a virtual Windows machine in the Mac environment (emulator)
• Internet Explorer must be installed because some components from IE is used in NAT
• Broadband 2 Mbit or faster - ADSL is recommended prior to wireless

General tips

• Antivirus - generally, we recommend only restricted use of anti virus programs, and above all, it is important that the virus program is properly positioned and configured so that the software features are not blocked or frozen unnecessarily. It is also important not to overdo the use of virus programs with regard to performance losses. Real-time price data and related technical analysis requires that no unnecessary bottlenecks are caused by the virus program. One solution would be to use only Windows own software firewall and a hardware router that stops most viruses as long as you do not open suspicious emails or visiting unknown sites.
  
  
• Laptop computers provide good protection against power failure. Of course it is also good to get a UPS device to your desktop computer. In this way the risk is reduced that the computer stops while you are not in place  and so on.
  
  
• Remote control - to install a remote service can be very good if you want to be able to log in from outside and check the status of your computer at home. There are several good services online, many of which are free.
  
  
• VPS - Virtual Personal Server as a cloud service offers you the best operating environment possible. Also, you then don´t need to run your own computer during trading hours. The VPS can be accessed from any other computer, iPads or smart phones.
  
  
• Put AutoTrader as an automatic startup object, this way the program always starts when Windows boots, for example after a Windows Update has been executed.
