Trend Entry

Set investment amount

You can set the amount that Trend Entry will use to buy for. The amount is specified individually for each instrument. Trend Entry automatically calculates the number of shares that can be purchased for the amount.

  • Select the instrument in exchange list that you want to trade
  • Click ENTER to open the Basic info for instruments dialog
  • Click on the tab Indata script enter the desired amount in the local currency for the market used
  • Click Save and close the dialog

To draw or change a trend line:

  • Select the chart you want to work with
  • Click on the "Triangle Logo" in the toolbar at the top of the program to enter "trend line mode"

  • Double click at the starting point for your trend line and draw about where you want it

  • You will be asked to save the trend line that alerted trend 1 or 2. Reply "No" as you are going to use Trend Entry
  • Mark the trend line and change ID to 3 if you want to buy an instrument or 4 if you want to short. (write 4 and click ENTER)
  • You can now select one or the other end of the line and "pull" in order to adjust the position
  • It is also possible to mark the middle of the line to move the entire line in any direction

Connect the order models to the instruments you want to trade

  • Select Nordnet account you want to use in the tool bar at the top
  • Open the order dialog if you do not already have it open
  • Click the Configure automatic orders

  • Mark the order model Trend Entry Long in the list to the left if you want to buy an instrument (select NO LOOP-version if you want Trend Entry to disconnect itself after the order)

  • Mark the order model Trend Entry Short in the list to the left if you want to enter a short position (select NO LOOP-version if you want Trend Entry to disconnect itself after the order)
  • Mark the instruments you want to connect Trend Entry to
  • Click on Connect to create the connections
  • Done!

The order model is connected and the trend line is monitored. As soon as the price crosses the line Trend Entry will send an order to Nordnet and a position is taken.
To delete a trendline, you mark it and click the red X in the trend line tool.
If you are already short in a position and a trend line for "buy" is crossed Trend Entry will buy the right number of shares to end up on the target position you have specified, and vice versa.
